Having problems with bad cholesterol? Here is tip on how to lower your bad cholesterol which is try and eating red onions. You might want to eat it raw.

Eating red onions can help remove bad cholesterol, thus reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes. At the same time, red onions retain the body’s good cholesterol, which help protect against heart diseases.

A study was done by the scientists from the Chinese University of Hong Kong who fed crushed red onions to hamsters who had been put on high cholesterol diet.

They found that after 8 weeks, the level of bad cholesterol or low density lipoprotein (LDL), had dropped by an average of 20 percent. But, over the same period, there was no reduction in the hamsters’ good cholesterol levels, also known as high density lipoprotein (HDL).
